About Chemical Sensitivities
Chemical sensitivities occur when individuals experience strong symptoms from exposure to common chemicals. For these individuals, even trace levels of chemicals can trigger physical symptoms. Common sources include fragrances, candle scents, perfumes/colognes, soaps, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies (bleach, Lysol, vinegar, etc), air fresheners, industrial and commercial sealants/protectants, gasoline, asphalt, and paint. The most common symptoms of chemical sensitivities include headaches, dizziness, asthma, rashes, and fatigue. Chemical sensitivities can mirror other conditions that are poorly understood in conventional medicine, such as fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.
Treatment for Chemical Sensitivities
At Franklin Acupuncture, we specialize in a treatment for chemical sensitivities called Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment (SAAT). SAAT was developed by Dr. Nader Soliman, an innovator in the field of auricular (ear) acupuncture. Aside from avoidance, there are currently no available treatment options for chemical sensitivities in conventional medicine. Ultimately, the outcome of receiving SAAT for chemical sensitivities is complete elimination of the allergic reactions. We provide chemical sensitivity treatment for patients in Tennessee and surrounding areas such as Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, and Illinois.
Many patients with chemical sensitivities will require just one treatment to eliminate all reactions. However, patients who are highly reactive to multiple types of chemicals may need more than one treatment.
Elimination of chemical sensitivities utilizing SAAT does not require the patient to be exposed to the allergen(s). It also does not require an extended period of time to address the sensitivity. Depending on what is found at the initial evaluation, the length of treatment is three to ten weeks.
