About Gluten Sensitivity/Wheat Allergy/Celiac
Gluten Sensitivity:
Gluten sensitivity is a condition that occurs when individuals experience symptoms when eating gluten, a protein found in grains like wheat, barley and rye. Many people with gluten sensitivity also have irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Avoiding gluten can be very challenging – not only is it found in breads, pizza, pasta, and other baked goods, other common foods and beverages also contain it, including soy sauce, beer, and seasonings.
Wheat Allergy:
A wheat allergy is an allergic reaction to foods containing wheat. Wheat allergy can lead to inflammatory responses in a variety of systems in the body such as gastrointestinal distress, inflammatory skin conditions, brain fog, fatigue, mental/emotional stress, and many other symptoms.
Celiac Disease:
Celiac disease is an autoimmune disease that is triggered by consuming gluten. It can lead to inflammation in the GI tract, which can be linked to leaky gut, IBS, and other conditions.
Treatment for Gluten Sensitivity/Wheat Allergy/Celiac
At Franklin Acupuncture, we specialize in a treatment for gluten sensitivity/wheat allergy/celiac called Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment (SAAT). SAAT was developed by Dr. Nader Soliman, an innovator in the field of auricular (ear) acupuncture. Compared to immunotherapies and other holistic therapies, SAAT has been found to provide the most effective results. Ultimately, the outcome of receiving SAAT for gluten sensitivity/wheat allergy/celiac is complete elimination of the allergic reactions. We provide gluten sensitivity/wheat allergy/celiac treatment for patients in Tennessee and surrounding areas such as Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, and Illinois.
Most patients with gluten sensitivity/wheat allergy require only one treatment. If it is determined at the recheck that a second treatment is indicated, re-needling is done free of charge.
Patients who have celiac disease will require functional medicine in addition to SAAT. Please call our office for more information regarding functional medicine for celiac.
